Suehiro Gokumyo Debado #2000 Knife Sharpening Stone
The Gokumyo Debado series of stones are unique among Suehiro's offerings: while most of the other Suehiro stones are made balancing speed of cutting and wear resistance, the Gokumyo Debado line treats cutting speed as secondary and achieves maximum wear resistance. The resulting stones exhibit next to no wear even under intense pressure while sharpening. That is not to imply that these stones are not effective. However, proper use of the cleaning stone provided should be observed in order to keep the stone conditioned and cutting optimally.
Given the wear resistance these stones possess, they are ideal for Uraoshi sharpening for single bevels, Japanese plane blades and chisels as well as straight razors. Their extreme hardness also make them some of the best stones for refining a final edge, as they will generally be less prone to oversharpening.
