Suehiro Debado SNE #1000 Knife Sharpening Stone
The Debado SNE line is an evolutionary iteration of Suehiro's old Debado line, which was produced individually by hand with the goal of being more wear-resistant while retaining its excellent cutting speed. Like all others in the Debado line, these stones are splash and go and more resistant to dishing than Suehiro's Cerax line making them perfect for heavy-handed sharpeners looking for stones with easy maintenance and a long service life. All Debado SNE come attached to a convenient base and stowed into a shielded compartment.
The Debado 1000# SNE is somewhat anomalous in this line. Whereas the 600# SNE feels coarser and more aggressive than the Shapton Glass 500#, this stone feels harder and finer than the Shapton Glass 1000#, albeit not by much. This stone produces a workable mud on wide and single-bevel knives but one would not call this a "muddy" stone. Given its slow wear and size, it is unlikely that the average knife sharpener would realistically wear through this stone.
