This is a block-form gravy mix (roux) made of wheat flour, spices, seasonings, oil, and vegetable powder. Simply stir-fry meat and onions, add water and this mix, stir to dissolve, and let it simmer. You will have a simple, delicious, no-hassle meal in no time.
It goes perfectly well with rice, bread, or mashed potatoes. You can also use it as a dipping sauce for steamed vegetables, a sauce for gratin, or an ingredient for pot pie. This Hayashi mix contains no meat derived ingredients.
