Chuka Bocho (Chinese Cleaver)
The Chuka Bocho, often referred to as a Chinese cleaver, is a versatile, heavy-bladed knife traditionally used in Chinese cuisine. Despite its cleaver-like appearance, it is not just for chopping bones. Instead, it functions as an all-purpose chef's knife—ideal for slicing vegetables, cutting meat, mincing herbs, and even transferring ingredients thanks to its wide blade.
Unlike Western cleavers, the Chuka Bocho is precision-forged, often thinner and sharper, allowing for delicate cuts while retaining enough weight for heavier tasks. It is favored by professional chefs for its balance, control, and adaptability in a busy kitchen.
