Swan Recro Cast Iron Manual Ice Shaver SI-8B
The Swan Recro Ice Shaver (Model SI-8B) is a hand-operated shaved ice machine manufactured by Ikenaga Iron Works Co., Ltd. in Osaka, Japan. With its solid cast iron body and stainless steel blade, the Recro blends vintage charm with dependable performance.
Inspired by classic Japanese kakigori machines, the Swan Recro features a large side-mounted hand crank and traditional block ice system. The ice block is secured by a pronged holder and shaved by turning the wheel manually, allowing full control over texture and output. The adjustable texture knob lets users fine-tune the shave from coarse to ultra-fine.
This machine is designed for round block ice. The ice block must be smaller than 8-5/8" (203mm) in diameter to fit properly and must sit flat on the shaving disc. The effective shaving disc diameter is 8-1/2".

Operating Notes
- Ice block should be placed flat side up and firmly secured by the holder prongs.
- Texture adjustment knob is shipped at zero setting and must be adjusted clockwise before shaving.
- Blade should be replaced at least once per season depending on usage.
- Main shaft should be periodically greased for smooth operation.
