About Blacksmith, Satoshi Nakagawa

Forged in Sakai alongside Kenichi Shiraki, a revered master bladesmith of traditional cutlery, Nakagawa became his only disciple and true successor. At just 30 years old, he earned the title of Traditional Craftsman. Since then, he has devoted himself exclusively to forging and refining his craft at the anvil. Today, his forging is held in exceptional regard, with chefs and professionals around the world specifically requesting knives forged by Nakagawa himself.

About Ittosai Kotetsu

Founded in 1917 by the previous generation's Kusutaro Takahashi, Ittosai Kotetsu was named after "Kotetsu," a renowned swordsmith of the Edo period, and "Ittousai," the founder of the flourishing Ittoryu swordsmanship of the Edo period. Ittosai Kotetsu continues this tradition of excellence, focusing on the delicate balance between achieving peak sharpness and maintaining ease of sharpening in their knives.
