Due to COVID-19 and government mandated closures, too many people have found themselves without jobs and are now facing the uncertainty of how to pay their bills and provide their families with basic necessities. The NYC restaurant industry has been particularly hard hit by this epidemic. Restaurants are the heart of our business and the soul of New York City. It is in times like these that we must band together and support one another. We have spent countless meals being served by New York’s finest hospitality workers, now is our chance to give back to them. We at MTC Kitchen and New York Mutual Trading are donating 10% of the retail price of all food purchases on MTCKitchen.com to ROAR New York.
Relief Opportunities for All Restaurants (ROAR) and New York City’s largest poverty-fighting organization, Robin Hood, have partnered with the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (NRAEF) to provide direct cash assistance to restaurant workers in New York City facing unprecedented economic hardship as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Robin Hood (a 501c3 non-profit organization, EIN #13-3441066) will manage donations. As New York City’s largest and most-effective poverty-fighting organization, Robin Hood has reactivated its Relief Fund to help provide stability to the historically disadvantaged communities that Robin Hood has been dedicated to serving for more than 30 years who will be disproportionally harmed by the immediate and long-term impacts of the COVID-19 crisis.
